KS3 ENGLISH MASTERY - SPOTLIGHT Y8 In today's English class, our Y8 Gothic literature enthusiasts set out to debunk a prevalent myth surrounding Frankenstein's 'monster'. Contrary to popular belief, they discovered that, in Mary Shelly's iconic works, the 'creature' isn't depicted as green nor adorned with bolts protruding from its neck! This exploration highlights the importance of delving into primary sources and challenging common misconceptions. By rooting their illustrations in Shelley's words, our students are fostering a deeper appreciation for classic literature and the power of textual evidence. Well done Year 8!

What an afternoon! Despite poor weather our year 8 athletes have had an extremely successful afternoon at the senior athletics at Denstone College, Uttoxeter. Competing in the U15 age category, meaning that the majority of athletes they competed against were in year 9, we had a fantastic afternoon of results. Highlights included 2nd Place girls shot and boys long jump, 3rd Place girls 200m, girls 100m, boys discus, girls relay 1st place in their heats and boys 2nd place. Huge congratulations to everyone! The girls came 2nd, the boys came 5th and overall the school came 3rd
