KS3 English Mastery Spotlight-Year 7 From Orwell's 'Animal Farm' to Willy Russell's 'Blood Brothers'. Our curriculum progression is seamless as both works highlight power dynamics and inequalities but in completely different contexts and genres. We are thrilled to share with you the exciting literary journey our Year 7 students have embarked upon as they delve into Willy Russell's acclaimed play, 'Blood Brothers'. Set against the vibrant backdrop of Liverpool in the 1960s, this captivating story follows the lives of twin brothers separated at birth, navigating through different socio-economic backgrounds. As our students immerse themselves in the narrative, they are not only discovering the rich history of Liverpool during this transformative era but also uncovering the profound messages that Russell intended to convey through his work. Getting up and performing the play is absolutely key for students to improve their spoken language skills and to understand the intricacies of reading a script. Well done Year 7!
