James Bateman Middle School

We all learn best when we are happy and supported, challenged and encouraged. At James Bateman we strive to make sure learning is enriching and enjoyable. We work with every pupil to nurture their individual abilities and to equip them for success, both academically and in terms of life skills.

The atmosphere at James Bateman is very special and we welcome visits to our school so that you can experience it for yourself.

    We have now arrived back in the UK. All students have enjoyed a complimentary meal and drink on the ferry. Our estimated arrival time at school is 10:00PM. We will provide an update if there are any changes to this schedule. Please be considerate and leave the bus stop free for the coach and also think of our neighbours

    This week in English, our remaining Year 8 students took part in a thrilling Jack the Ripper-themed escape room! Here's one of our winning teams! Their competitive spirit, hard work, and teamwork was brilliant to see! Well done year 8!

    Our year 5&6 athletes participated in their first Staffordshire Moorlands District athletics competition on Thursday 3rd July. Athletes competed against our local middle schools and there were some great individual performances. A huge well done to everyone who competed!

    **UPDATE** Due to delays at French customs, our scheduled ferry from Calais to Dover has departed. We will now be boarding the 3:30PM (our time) ferry. We will continue to provide updates regarding our estimated arrival time back at school. ETA to Dover 4:45pm (UK)
